Club Training 2022

The club returns to training from Kingsway Park High School on 4th January 2022. All the sessions that you know and love will return, but we will also be adding a couple of new or changed sessions and re-introducing our Couch to 5k group.

Tuesday

  • *NEW* 6.15-7.00pm Couch to 5k (Starting Tuesday 11th January) – a nine week programme that will support complete beginners or people returning to running through progressive steps to running a 5k at the end of the programme. The course is lead by a team of experienced runners, with the Leader in Running Fitness qualification. If you are interested in taking part, please email Nick Barton ([email protected]). £1 per session for RHAC Members, £2 per session for non-members.
  • 7.00-8.00pm Track Session (Starting Tuesday 4th January) – Endurance focussed track session with Coach Jeff McCarthy – Individual sessions will be published weekly via WhatsApp Group and Facebook. Suitable for a range of abilities.  £1.50 per session – Must be a member of RHAC as 1st or 2nd claim member, although you are welcome to attend a couple of sessions as a guest before deciding to join.
  • 7.00-8.00pm Road Speed Session (Starting Tuesday 4th January) – Road based endurance speed session with Nick Barton (LiRF) – Individual sessions will be published weekly via WhatsApp Group and Facebook. Typically sessions include fartlek, pyramid, hill reps and mile strides. Suitable for a range of abilities.  £1 per session – Must be a member of RHAC as 1st or 2nd claim member, although you are welcome to attend a couple of sessions as a guest before deciding to join.
  • *NEW* 7.00-8.00pm New Members / Improver Road Speed Session (Starting Tuesday 4th January) – Road based endurance speed session with Mike Winstanley (LiRF). Broadly similar to other road speed session, but aimed at new members and existing members who wish to train with a slightly slower group. Group will target a 10k race every few months to help motivation and gauge progression. £1 per session – Must be a member of RHAC as 1st or 2nd claim member, although you are welcome to attend a couple of sessions as a guest before deciding to join.

 

Thursday

  • 7.00-7.45pm Junior Training (6-11) (Starting Thursday 6th January) – Track or Sportshall session (weather dependant) for juniors aged 6-11. £1.50 per session – Must be a member of RHAC, although you are welcome to attend a couple of sessions as a guest before deciding to join. We are currently operating a waiting list, if you are interested in your child joining please email Mel ([email protected]) with your child’s name and date of birth.
  • 7.45-8.30pm Junior Training (12-17) (Starting Thursday 6th January) – Track or Sportshall session (weather dependant) for juniors aged 12-17. £1.50 per session – Must be a member of RHAC, although you are welcome to attend a couple of sessions as a guest before deciding to join.   • 7.00-8.00pm Tempo Session (Starting Thursday 6th January) – Fast paced tempo session with Coach Jeff McCarthy. £1 per session – Must be a member of RHAC as 1st or 2nd claim member, although you are welcome to attend a couple of sessions as a guest before deciding to join.
  • 7.00-8.00pm Steady Run (Starting Thursday 6th January) – Steady paced run, usually around 8 minute miles, 5-7 miles. £1 per session – Must be a member of RHAC as 1st or 2nd claim member, although you are welcome to attend a couple of sessions as a guest before deciding to join.
  • *NEW* 7.00-8.00pm New Members / Improvers Steady Run (Starting Thursday 6th January) – Steady paced run led by Mike Winstanley (LiRF). £1 per session – Must be a member of RHAC as 1st or 2nd claim member, although you are welcome to attend a couple of sessions as a guest before deciding to join.
