Welcome to the Rochdale Harriers & AC Junior Athletics Page!

RHAC has two groups for junior training; Ages 6-11 and ages 12-17. The aim of the club is to help athletes achieve their own potential.

The groups train in all aspects of athletics:

• Running (sprints, middle distance, long distance, relay);
• Jumping;
• Throwing; and
• Indoor Sportshall (9 years onwards).

Dervla Moore

For ages 6-11 years, training in on Thursdays 7.00-7.45pm.

For ages 12 years and upwards, training is on Thursdays 7.45-8.30pm.

Katie Wilkinson

Training takes place throughout the year except Christmas and New Year and is held on the athletics track unless the weather is extremely wet or icy. In those circumstances, training will be moved into the sportshall.

If your child would like to become part of Rochdale Harriers & AC please contact Mel Taylor ([email protected])* providing your child’s name, date of birth, address and a phone number and email address.  Your child will then be placed on a waiting list and you will be contacted once a place becomes available. Any additional support or adjustments required will be discussed with the coaching team prior to your child joining RHAC.

* Please note that contact details have changed recently and emails using older email addresses, may not get to the coaches.

Junior training takes place at:

Kingsway Athletics Arena (Opposite Gordon Riggs), Turf Hill Road, Rochdale, OL16 4XA.

Please note:

The first three sessions are free, following which the cost is £1.50 per session. After three months your child will need to join the club as a member and participate in appropriate competitions and events as advised by the coaching team.
